Scars and something else...

Hello there!!

For those people who follow my blog, you might notice my absence. But you may also know that this is normal for me, specially after a good book or a bad one. Yes, I have been reading, nothing that big or exciting, unfortunately, but I have been reading. One of the books that I read was a non fiction Spanish book, and it was about this Mexican actress and her struggles with her love life. The book is called Soltera pero no Sola by Claudia Cervantes in case if you wonder.

Another good book (if you can called it good because it's a sad story) is Scars by Cheryl Rainfield.  Kendra is a sad and lonely fifteen year old who was raped by an unknown person, ever since she was 3 years old, until she was 12. Even so she has being raped over and over, her mind is represing the memories and does not want to know (I guess) who her abuser is. She only remembers little fragments.  Now that she is older and and through help from her therapist, she is starting to remember more and more. There is so much going on right now on her life, she knows that she has being follow and to cope from her fears she is cutting herself. This is until she finds help from another lonely girl and her feelings for her changed from friendship to something else. This is a really an exciting book! There are a lot of secrets, mystery and drama!!!and of course at the end you find out who the abuser is (I actually figured it out right away).

Readbox and New Movies Info!!

Hello there! I just wanted to post this project that I did for my job, because it is book related :)

I love pinterest! I think it is an amazing app, where you can find A LOT of different ideas from clothing outfits to makeup etc.. I also like to do crafts!!! As you might know my husband and I, we're both librarians so one day we were looking for fun book displays to do at the library (we work in different towns btw). I found this cool "readbox" display which basically is like a "redbox" (where you can rent DVDs) but this one is for books, that's why is call "read" box get it???? lol. All right so I thought it was going to be fun and easy to do, so I asked my boss the main head librarian if I could do it, and she agreed right away!!! so this what I am talking about....

I chose books that are coming up in movies next year. Some of them like the Lorax and Catching Fire came out already, but I wanted to throw them in there :) I got a mix of children, non fiction,  YA and Fiction as well. The movie Horns by Joe Hill came out and has been shown in Canada only, but it has not  been release in the US yet. The main character is been played by Daniel Radcliffe best known as the lovely Harry Potter.

Here is the info for the other movies/books,  in case if you want to read the book first before the movie.

If I stay by Gayle Forman - play by Chloë Moretz from Kick Ass and Carrie the movies

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn- Play by Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck

Angelina Jolie is the directing the movie Unbroken

The Fault in our Stars by John Green will be play by Shailene Woodley best known from Divergent and the TV series "The secret life of an American Teenager"

I'm here

I haven't  written anything in a while!!! I guess I still cannot get over the last books I've read. I just haven't find any books that really interest me. That's horrible isn't???? I have been so busy this past weeks, I did however read some books or at least part of some books. I started reading Alligiant by Veronica Roth, I actually had that book pre order and I was so excited about it, but then I read something that I was not suppose to read in Jasmine's blog and I just lost all interest!! I know is my fault but i couldn't wait!! :(

I did read a book called Finding Katie, this book is anonymous but it was edited by Beatrice Sparks same person who edited Go ask Alice. What can I say about this book? I cannot say that I like it because everything that happened was not good. This is real life, all this things happened to a real person. What I did like about the book is that it actually has a happy ending. Katie was born in a rich family, she has always have everything except for her parents love. Her dad was a well know producer from Hollywood and was always busy and abusive. Katie's mom was a drug addict and didn't care for her daughter at all. One that the father took her and left her in the ugly side of LA and like that Katie became homeless. Later on she was found by a social worker and placed her in a foster home and her life just became harder. The one thing about her is that she started to help the other foster kids and by that it helped her to find that meaning in her life. This is a good a book, there is a lot to learn. It is amazing how we don't realize the need for this kids, there are a lot thousands of kids without a home, specially the older kids.  I would definitely recommend this book, it is a hit to reality.

I also read Breathe by Abbi Glines. This is book is one of my absolute favorites! This was actually the very first book that I read from Abbi, and after that I just got obsessed with her books.

Some news!! I am so excited because tomorrow 11/15/13, Jasmine and I are going to see Colleen Hoover and Abbi Glines!!!
