A Beautiful Dark

by Jocelyn Davies

OMG! This book will be the next movie saga! This book remind me so much to the twilight trilogy except there is no vampires and no werewolves lol. There are two handsome guys fighting for a girl though. These two are not some regular high school guys, these are different in another way, they have a special assignment. Skye is a girl with plans, she knows that if she wants to make it for Columbia University she needs to work for it. She was doing great until these two guys showed up to her life. She is torn between these two handsome and totally different from one another. Asher is dark, spontaneous, and wild, but Devin brings her calm, care and he is fair. There is a reason why they came looking for her, a mystery, a purpose. I seriously loved this first book, of course I am reading part 2 and 3. I can really picture that these trilogy would make an excellent movie saga.

Easy

Easy is a great book by Tammara Webber

It's always good to read a different kind of book that doesn't involve a lot of sex, and this is one of them.  Jacqueline has just broken up from her longtime boyfriend, she is sad and depressed so she decides to get out of a frat Halloween party, on her way to the her truck Buck a schoolmate follows her and tries to rape her, but Lucas comes just in time to rescue her. Later on, she starts to notice Lucas everywhere, at her favorite coffee shop and even a class. What she didn't know was that he has always been there, but she has never notice anybody else but her ex handsome and popular ex Kennedy. Now that her life has turned around she she decides to get back to her feet in a class that she failing, and with the help of her online tutor she gets to do it. While she feels an attraction to her online tutor, she also starts to get feelings for Lucas. At the end you find out that Lucas is keeping some deep secrets. This is a really awesome book if you are in the mood of some romance but not erotic book, this is a great option.

Four

Four is the newest book from the Divergent series from Veronica Roth

This book is about how Tobias became Four, this is his part of the story and how he became Dauntless. The book was really well written, a really easy and fast read. Like I mention before, I don't personally like to read the same story from somebody else's perspective. I think it is a little boring specially if it's the male character who is telling the story. But I liked this book, I think it was really awesome for Veronica to give us more of Four. I guess a lot of people started to like him because of the movie, but I have always like him since the books, and of course I wanted to know more of him. This books describes him really well, you understand his personality a lot more. The book also contains two new scenes that were not in the Divergent book.

Now that I read this book it got me thinking that some of the major people from the Divergent book and the "Four" book were not in the Divergent movie. I don't know the reasons why the producers decided not to include Tobia's best friend Zeke and his brother Uriah, but in this book they also played a big role.

Lost & Found

After the disappointment of the previous book Beauty from Surrender, I read this amazing new adult book called Lost & Found by Nicole Williams. I found this book for free on my iBooks! I believe there is a also a second book, but I think that one you'll have to pay for it.

Lost & Found is about this "troubled" girl Rowen and a gorgeous and hardworking cowboy Jesse.

I  found a good review by the author on amazon, that explains exactly what the book is about. Here is the link if you want to take a look or if you want to get it for free!

So here it is...

"After numbing pain for the past five years with boys, alcohol, and all-around apathy, she finds herself on a Greyhound bus to nowhere Montana the summer after she graduates high school. Her mom agreed to front the bill to Rowen’s dream art school only if Rowen proves she can work hard and stay out of trouble at Willow Springs Ranch. Cooking breakfast at the crack of dawn for a couple dozen ranch hands and mucking out horse stalls are the last things in the world Rowen wants to spend her summer doing.

Until Jesse Walker saunters into her life wearing a pair of painted-on jeans, a cowboy hat, and a grin that makes something in her chest she’d thought was frozen go boom-boom. Jesse’s like no one else, and certainly nothing like her. He’s the bright and shiny to her dark and jaded.

Rowen knows there’s no happily-ever-after for the golden boy and the rebel girl—happily-right-now is a stretch—so she tries to forget and ignore the boy who makes her feel things she’s not sure she’s ready to feel. But the more she pushes him away, the closer he seems to get. The more she convinces herself she doesn’t care, the harder she falls.

When her dark secrets refuse to stay locked behind the walls she’s kept up for years, Rowen realizes it’s not just everyone else she needs to be honest with. It’s herself

Crazy Beautiful

Crazy Beautiful by Lauren Baratz-Logsted

This is a quick YA book. This book is good to read if you are in mood of something light and easy to read. Also if you want to read something similar to the Fault in Our Stars by John Green click here for review. This book is about Lucius a high school student who blew his arms off in an attempt to create an explosion.  After the explosion he struggles to fit in at his new school and even with his own family. He knows that all of  this was his fault and he wants to punish himself for it. Instead of prosthetic arms he gets hooks to remind himself of what his mistake, he wants to scare people so they won't talk to him. It almost work except for Aurora who is also a new student in town, Lucius describes her as a dark angel who is beautiful and she is not afraid of him. Aurora wants to learn of what happened to Lucius and at the end she finds out what was Lucius main intention with the explosive he wanted to make. What intentions can someone have when making an explosive? Yeah well that is something you need to find out if you read this book. I liked the book, I didn't love it of course but it was a good and easy read.

Scars and something else...

Hello there!!

For those people who follow my blog, you might notice my absence. But you may also know that this is normal for me, specially after a good book or a bad one. Yes, I have been reading, nothing that big or exciting, unfortunately, but I have been reading. One of the books that I read was a non fiction Spanish book, and it was about this Mexican actress and her struggles with her love life. The book is called Soltera pero no Sola by Claudia Cervantes in case if you wonder.

Another good book (if you can called it good because it's a sad story) is Scars by Cheryl Rainfield.  Kendra is a sad and lonely fifteen year old who was raped by an unknown person, ever since she was 3 years old, until she was 12. Even so she has being raped over and over, her mind is represing the memories and does not want to know (I guess) who her abuser is. She only remembers little fragments.  Now that she is older and and through help from her therapist, she is starting to remember more and more. There is so much going on right now on her life, she knows that she has being follow and to cope from her fears she is cutting herself. This is until she finds help from another lonely girl and her feelings for her changed from friendship to something else. This is a really an exciting book! There are a lot of secrets, mystery and drama!!!and of course at the end you find out who the abuser is (I actually figured it out right away).

where she went

This is a sequel of the book If I Stay review here by Gayle Forman

Spoiler free*

If you read my review, then you know how amazing the first book is, and that I finished it withing hours. And obviously I was actually expecting so much more for this second book. This book is mostly about Adam, about his band, and the chapters go back and forth from past to present. I think it would have been better if it had Mia's POV too. I wanted to hear more about what happened to Mia after the accident. I wanted to know how did she react after waking up, and how did she react about losing her entire family. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of it until the end when Adams meets with Mia again, but still everything happens too fast. To tell you the truth, I didn't like it so much. I am so sorry because I really expected so much more.

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

by John Green

This is another book that I chose for my readbox, and it is also being made into a movie for next year.  I am amazed by this book!. I have never read a book like this one, it reminds me of my sister's keeper in a way and some other movies. This is funny yet a sad book, the story it's just something that you don't hear very often, and I love this kind of books that are unexpected.

This book is about Hazel a seventeen year old who has terminal cancer for most of her life. Apparently, she has lived more than what she was supposed to.She doesn't go out, she doesn't go to school anymore, basically not a normal teenager life. Her mom wants her to have a "normal" life, and ends up sending her to  a Cancer Support Group where she meets Augustus Waters, and he changes her life around. It is really hard to explain exactly what happens with this book.  It is really fun and sad at the same time, and this book will get your emotions up and down so watch out. I literally cried like a baby almost at the end of the book! Ohh  and let me tell you the ending is really unexpected.  I fully, truly recommend this book and I think it will make a great movie. I really cannot wait to watch it.

if i stay

If I stay by Gayle Forman

Remember my readbox? click here Basically If I stay is one those books that I chose that are coming up as movies next year. Because I chose this book for my readbox it is only fair that I read it right? lol I was actually reading two different books this week one of them is the post before this one or go here Long Way Home  and The fault in our stars (I haven't finish this one) and it is also another one of my readbox selection. I was reading Long Way Home at home on my cellphone, and The Fault in Our Stars at work, but yesterday I forgot this book at home so I started reading if I stay (I hope I didn't confused you) so basically once I started reading if i stay I couldn't stop, thank God it was really slow at work so I finished it in a couple of hours. You see how amazing is to work in a library so when it's not busy get a book and read it. I think this actually talks good about me, because it means that you care for books, and  I utilize the books from my library (that's what I think anyway). Now, back to the book, it is amazing! Mia is a musician, so is her father, bother and her boyfriend Adam. Mia plays the cello, dad and brother the drums, and Adam is the main voice and main guitar from a local band that are finding their way to success. One snowy day Mia and her family go for a drive to see some friends of the family, but they suffer a terrible accident which causes Mia to be dead? or alive? this is something she needs to find out. Mia is out there with no extra powers or anything, but she is able to see everything around her while she lays down in bed at the hospital, with little possibilities of survival. This is book is a really easy read, really interesting, and I wasn't expecting any of what happened at all. I fully recommend the book, if you like it you won't stop reading it, plus it is coming up in a movie and you will already know the story. This is one of the things what I like about reading books, that you get to find out what happens in the movie before people who do not read. Plus, I am really desperate woman and I don't like surprises! so I like to know that I know what's going to happen before everyone else hehe.

Readbox and New Movies Info!!

Hello there! I just wanted to post this project that I did for my job, because it is book related :)

I love pinterest! I think it is an amazing app, where you can find A LOT of different ideas from clothing outfits to makeup etc.. I also like to do crafts!!! As you might know my husband and I, we're both librarians so one day we were looking for fun book displays to do at the library (we work in different towns btw). I found this cool "readbox" display which basically is like a "redbox" (where you can rent DVDs) but this one is for books, that's why is call "read" box get it???? lol. All right so I thought it was going to be fun and easy to do, so I asked my boss the main head librarian if I could do it, and she agreed right away!!! so this what I am talking about....

I chose books that are coming up in movies next year. Some of them like the Lorax and Catching Fire came out already, but I wanted to throw them in there :) I got a mix of children, non fiction,  YA and Fiction as well. The movie Horns by Joe Hill came out and has been shown in Canada only, but it has not  been release in the US yet. The main character is been played by Daniel Radcliffe best known as the lovely Harry Potter.

Finding Cinderella

by Colleen Hoover!!

I love this short book!!! Remember Daniel from Hopeless? Daniel is Holder's crazy and funny best friend, well this is his book! Now, you remember when the school administration forgot to schedule him for a 5th period class and he used to hide in the maintenance closet to takes naps?? Then if you do, you must remember a girl who bumped inside the closet and at they end up making out. In this book Daniel tries to find this girl but he has not success and ends up with Val. All this is until Six (Sky's best friend) comes back from Europe and all that changes. Awww!! I loved this book is so funny because Daniel is such a character hehe so funny. The ending is such breathtaking and unfinished! I want more!!

Guess what? Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines and Jamie Mcguire are coming to my State, and I am going to see them with my friend Jasmine Woot Woot!! I actually need to buy some of the books so they can sign it :D I own most of the books online, but I don't have any hard covers :(

Simple Perfection

The newest book by Abbi Glines.

You know that she is my favorite author, but I didn't quiet enjoy this book until almost the end!! I don't really know why, I usually consumed her books right away. This is one actually took me like a week to finish!!! Don't get me wrong I still like this book, and I still love Woods.  I think is Della, I don't really connect with her, there is something about her that I don't like, I don't know... I can't explain it. Another thing that I didn't like about the book is that, this book was as if it was written for new audience. It explains a lot of who the characters are, like Rush and Blaire and I didn't like that. I guess if somebody read the first book twisted perfection, or any of the Fallen too Far Series should already know who each of them are. The end though! the end was surprising, not good surprising, one of the characters dies!!! I couldn't stop crying!! I don't know why Abbi tortured us like that!! I am not telling you who dies, the only thing I will tell you is that, is not one of the main characters pfff!! (imagine how I would feel) :( This book is good, but it's not going to be on my favorites. I am sorry....

Our song

Our Song by Jordanna Fraiberg

Awww this is a really nice book! I read it so fast! It really got me hooked since the very beginning. This story is about Olive Bell who lives in a perfect neighborhood, she has a perfect family and a perfect boyfriend, you know the deal...the popular guy from school who has his goals already set up for his future and all that. The book starts when Olive has had an accident and she dies....yeap she died for 3 long minutes!!! but when she wakes up, her life changes completely. Apparently something happened before the accident, but she cannot remember, but don't worry everything will be disclose almost at the end of the book. The best part of this book is when she meets Nick in one of her "After Dead Sessions" he is so different to all the rest, she feels complete, but there is something, there is something something that separates these two. Overall, this book is really good, I enjoyed reading it. It has a lot of mystery and drama I like it a lot!!!

Stalk Me

Another free book by Jilian Dodd

Keatyn Douglas is the daughter of a famous Hollywood  actress, and she is 16 year old. This book was a little longer of what I expected, but it was really good. I like this book for the fact that it is so close to reality. Is everything that you expected to hear about the daughter of a well known actress, somebody who is spoil and pretty and very independent. Well Keatyn is all that, she does what ever she wants to do, she is one of the most popular girls at school. She thinks she is in love with different guys and ends up going out with some of them. This is reality people!! This is really what rich and non rich young girls do! I want to give Keatyn some credit though, she wants to change, she really thought she was in love and I know she is a dreamer. She just cannot change who her mom is and because of that she needs to face a lot of problems, a lot of drama and a lot of stalking! Yes, there is a big time Stalker that forces her family to make major changes in their lives. I do like the book, there is a second book of this series, I might wait a little longer to read it.

Th1rteen R3asons Why

A novel by Jay Asher

This book is in the New York Best Sellers for this month.

All this suspense started the day Clay, a high school student received a shoe box full of audio tapes with numbers on them. When he started listening to the first tape, he knew these tapes belonged to Hanna Baker. Hanna was a mysterious girl from high school, who was always involved in the gossip from school. After being bullied in different ways, she killed herself. Hanna left these tapes to pass along the 13 people who made her take this decision.  This book is so amazing, I couldn't stop reading it. I wanted to know more, and as you read you will find out how these people tormented Hanna until the very last day when she did it. This is a book that you have to read!! It's hard to imagine that our actions can affect somebody's life, even if we mean it or not.

I know this is not the real trailer or if they're thinking on making a movie, but this fan trailer came out so good.

Losing Hope

Yeah Losing Hope!! I finally read this beautiful book, also by Colleen Hoover

Losing Hope is a sequel or Holder's POV of Hopeless, one of my very very favorite books! I said  a sequel because the beginning is a little different, it has more to it. It actually starts when they were kids and when Hope got taken. For those of you who haven't read Hopeless, I really encourage you to do it ASAP. It is an amazing book, it is so real, so sad although it makes you happy at the end. It is an amazing story very different from all the book that I have read. This book is not a disappointment, the beginning makes a lot more sense, you learn to love Holden and understand him a lot more. At the end of the book it has a letter from Les (Holden's twin sister) that explains why she did what she did. I am not telling anymore, because some of you need to read it!  Amazing!

Cont..

This Girl

This book is the third book of the Slammed Series by Colleen Hoover. Actually this book is Will's POV of the first book. Will and Lake are already married, and while in the Honeymoon  Will starts to share his part of the story since they both met. I love this part when they are in the honeymoon, it's so nice to read that they are doing great, I mean they are a great couple that were destined for each other. I actually posted a blog about this series a while back, and these two books are seriously good. Ok, so Will is telling his part of the story while Lake gets all this emotions back and it is really fun to read. I like the part that Will finds out about Julia's cancer. I actually didn't know by reading the first book, that he already knew about her cancer way before Lake. The only thing that I didn't like about the book, is that I can't understand why Will thinks so much hehe. Ok, the thing is that, Will seems to think so much because you read a lot of his thoughts until he finally says something to Lake. I don't think I am saying this right, but I am not the only one that thought about this. My friend Jasmine read this book as well, and we both think that Will seems to think a lot and not really saying much. You would have to read the book to understand what I am saying hehe. I did like the book, maybe not as much as the first two books but I did like it.

A few more books

Over these past weeks, I have read some books and my eyesight is acting a little weird.  I am actually going to see an eye doctor this Saturday, I think I might need glasses real soon. For some reason I like to read ebooks instead or hard cover books and I think is kind of damaging my eyes. Well, I guess it was about time too, I am most of the time in front of my computer or my cellphone.

The first book that I read was Insurgent, book # 2 after Divergent. I also found out that the movie is coming out next year in 2014! Woot woot! As I said in my other blog, this book sounded a lot like the Hunger Games and people are actually comparing it to those books as well. I knew it! ok well. I am looking forward for it! This book # 2 is really good as well, a lot of things happened and Tris the main character grows up a lot and becomes a powerful fighter. The book is good and I have the feeling that the movies would be better :)

Second book is for all those Pretty Little Liars fans! Yes! you know that I am a FAN! even my husband watches it, he complains of me watching it, but at the end he watches it too hehe. I wanted the read the whole series of books but I couldn't. The show is a little different from the books, so I skipped all of them and went straight for the very last one. Ali's Pretty Little Lies, is Ali's (the dead girl) point of view and it goes from the very first beginning. It has really good info! and if the show follows this book, that means that....I know who killed Ali! But I am not telling you! it is really good!!!

The third book OMG Entwined with You!! Eva and Gideon are so HOT!! Not a lot of things happen in this book actually. Only until the end the book spice up a little more. For some reason, I still think that these books are not as good as Fifty Shades, but they are really close.

Twisted Perfection

OMG!!! One of my favorite books!!!

Twisted Perfection is the third book after Fallen too far and Never too Far by Abbi Glines. Those two books were already on my top favorite list. She is deff one the best!!

This book is so hot! I always liked Woods, even from the first book when he was in love with Blaire but she ended up choosing the bad guy. So it is good that Abbi wanted to write about the good guy who ends up lonely. She actually twisted everything he is so naughty in this book and that's what I liked about it, that he is so nice but so different from the first two books. In this book Woods has a one night stand with Della, who is passing through Rosemary town looking for adventure, and at the same time leaving the terrors from her past life. They actually had an amazing time together, idk how many times they did it and this book is really explicit about. Well, she leaves town leaving a mark on Woods life. Woods is actually getting engage when Della comes back and just can't continue, this is a must to read!! I really loved the book

OMG and that ending!! I can't wait for Fall (Not that I want the summer to be over) but I want to read it so bad!!

Fallen/Never too far

Fallen too Far, definitely one of my favorite books by Abbi Glines.

Blaire, whose mom died a couple of days ago, moves to Rosemary beach looking for her father who she hasn't seen in five years after her twin sister died. Blaire meets Rush, he is the son of a famous rock star and also the eldest son of Georgiana, Blaire's step mother. At first, Rush makes Blaire's life miserable because she thought she was not welcome there. Rush wanted to be away from her because of a secret, he wanted to protect his sister Nan, which is also really mean to Blaire. At the end they both fall in love but soon after she finds out the secret and runs away to her town. I mean all this it's really vague, the way I describe it but  this is an awesome story, I loved it. I definitely add this book as one of my favorite books and I really recommend it.

Never too Far actually came out today! This is the second book. Good, I didn't have to wait too long to read it. I only waited one day to read it after I finished with fallen too far.

This second part is about Blaire coming back to Rosemary beach where Rush lives. There is a good reason why she comes back. Rush is all happy and excited to see Blaire back, but that doesn't mean that she would be with him. Basically this book is about Rush gaining Blaire's trust back but in order for that he needs to do much more. His family is actually the main obstacle between Rush and Blaire. A horrible accident happen that makes this book more interesting and got me crying until the end of the book. The book actually had a nice ending and I am happy how it came out. I can't tell you more because I actually beat Jasmine to read it and I know she wouldn't like me spoiling the story.

Abbi Glines is definitely one of the best authors ever!!!
