Beautiful Disaster

Ok well, I remember a long time ago, (probably last year) that I tried reading this book. For some reason it didn't work out so much, and I don't know why. I decided to add this book to my TBR list once again, after I went to a signing last year with my friend Jasmine, Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines and Jamie McGuire. I saw that a lot of people actually went to see Jamie, then I figured that her book was good so I kept it on my list. I loved that book! I mean I don't want to say that it's one of my favorites, but it is right there on the edge. The book is about this hot, flirty, cute, nerdy Travis Maddox....did I mention, he is also a street fighter! oh yeah oh yeah!

Abbi Abernathy is the new girl in Eastern University, she meets Travis for the first time in an underground fight. She happens to be really close to where Travis was fighting, that when he punched the other guy in the nose, all the blood got to Abbi's clothes, and this is the moment that they both saw each other for the first time. Travis is well known at the university for being a casanova actually there is a rumor that he has gone out with about half of the school girls. Abbi doesn't gets charm by his looks right away (I loved her character) she is a smart ass, she doesn't stay quiet and she is really funny. Maybe this is the same reason that caught Travis' attention for her. She doesn't go easy on him of course, and I liked that, she actually has bigger problems to deal with, like her father, money and luck yes luck! you get to find out about if you read this book. Although the book was kind of long, it was really good, the book is really original and does not compared to other books. I understand now why people loved it.

Easy

Easy is a great book by Tammara Webber

It's always good to read a different kind of book that doesn't involve a lot of sex, and this is one of them.  Jacqueline has just broken up from her longtime boyfriend, she is sad and depressed so she decides to get out of a frat Halloween party, on her way to the her truck Buck a schoolmate follows her and tries to rape her, but Lucas comes just in time to rescue her. Later on, she starts to notice Lucas everywhere, at her favorite coffee shop and even a class. What she didn't know was that he has always been there, but she has never notice anybody else but her ex handsome and popular ex Kennedy. Now that her life has turned around she she decides to get back to her feet in a class that she failing, and with the help of her online tutor she gets to do it. While she feels an attraction to her online tutor, she also starts to get feelings for Lucas. At the end you find out that Lucas is keeping some deep secrets. This is a really awesome book if you are in the mood of some romance but not erotic book, this is a great option.

Rush too Far

by Abbi Glines

I  had this book pre-ordered a while back but I wasn't that excited about it for some reason . Whenever I read the same book but with the other character POV I don't usually like them. Maybe because I already know the story and it is kind of weird to read it again but in somebody else's head i guess. The only book that I didn't mind reading again was Hopeless/Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover, I guess that's because that was an excellent story and they both were really strong characters with strong stories behind them.  Another thing is that I do like more being in a chick's head, I guess I do understand that we have a huge imagination and make things up . But it is kind of hard for me to think that guys are think that much and say too little like in this case with Rush. To be honest in the original book Fallen too Far, Blair was the one who speak the most she was the main character, the only part that Rush talk was on the intimate parts! I love Rush I still do, but this book was not what I expected. I feel bad about it because I love Abbi Glines but this book just didn't do it for me.

Something to Remember

Last Friday I had an amazing time! I met two of my favorite authors, of course you know who they are. Yes, I am talking about Abbi Glines and Colleen Hoover!! Jamie McGuire was there too. I started reading one of her books, but I never finish it ( I might do it soon) because I think most of the people at the signing were there specially for Jamie's books. Jamie was really well spoken, she looks though, but she is also fun and went to a hard time before she came a famous author. Colleen was the quiet one, really really nice and she truly cares about her books. Abbi is all I imagine to be, she is so uplifting, she is fun and she really reflects that on her books! She is amazing. We were there for an hour or so asking questions, then we waited in line for another hour and a half to get our books sing, but all this was worth it. It is an amazing opportunity to meet them, this is once in a life time. Thanks to Jasmine who went with me and we together had a really good time!

I'm here

I haven't  written anything in a while!!! I guess I still cannot get over the last books I've read. I just haven't find any books that really interest me. That's horrible isn't???? I have been so busy this past weeks, I did however read some books or at least part of some books. I started reading Alligiant by Veronica Roth, I actually had that book pre order and I was so excited about it, but then I read something that I was not suppose to read in Jasmine's blog and I just lost all interest!! I know is my fault but i couldn't wait!! :(

I did read a book called Finding Katie, this book is anonymous but it was edited by Beatrice Sparks same person who edited Go ask Alice. What can I say about this book? I cannot say that I like it because everything that happened was not good. This is real life, all this things happened to a real person. What I did like about the book is that it actually has a happy ending. Katie was born in a rich family, she has always have everything except for her parents love. Her dad was a well know producer from Hollywood and was always busy and abusive. Katie's mom was a drug addict and didn't care for her daughter at all. One that the father took her and left her in the ugly side of LA and like that Katie became homeless. Later on she was found by a social worker and placed her in a foster home and her life just became harder. The one thing about her is that she started to help the other foster kids and by that it helped her to find that meaning in her life. This is a good a book, there is a lot to learn. It is amazing how we don't realize the need for this kids, there are a lot thousands of kids without a home, specially the older kids.  I would definitely recommend this book, it is a hit to reality.

I also read Breathe by Abbi Glines. This is book is one of my absolute favorites! This was actually the very first book that I read from Abbi, and after that I just got obsessed with her books.

Some news!! I am so excited because tomorrow 11/15/13, Jasmine and I are going to see Colleen Hoover and Abbi Glines!!!

Finding Cinderella

by Colleen Hoover!!

I love this short book!!! Remember Daniel from Hopeless? Daniel is Holder's crazy and funny best friend, well this is his book! Now, you remember when the school administration forgot to schedule him for a 5th period class and he used to hide in the maintenance closet to takes naps?? Then if you do, you must remember a girl who bumped inside the closet and at they end up making out. In this book Daniel tries to find this girl but he has not success and ends up with Val. All this is until Six (Sky's best friend) comes back from Europe and all that changes. Awww!! I loved this book is so funny because Daniel is such a character hehe so funny. The ending is such breathtaking and unfinished! I want more!!

Guess what? Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines and Jamie Mcguire are coming to my State, and I am going to see them with my friend Jasmine Woot Woot!! I actually need to buy some of the books so they can sign it :D I own most of the books online, but I don't have any hard covers :(

This week reads

As many of you know that Abbi Glines is one, if is not my very favorite author of all times!! Some of you know that I work at a Library and I have never been able to find any of Abbi's books in hard cover. I have always read all of  her books in kindle or iBooks. One day I requested hers and Colleen Hoover's books to the manager from another branch, she told me that those books were YA-ish  and she didn't order those books, so I left it like that. The other day I was bored at work and I wanted something to read, and I search for these authors and to my surprise I found that there was a copy of the Vincent Boys from Abbi and Slammed by Colleen Hoover in the branch were I have had requested them. I was so excited that I right away put to the books on hold so they could be shipped to me to the branch were I work at. So one of the books that I read this week is The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines and as usual I consumed that book in a couple of hours. I love how Abbi Glines writes, I love every one of her books. This is a different book from her series, it is a different story, but it is good as always. The Vincent boys is about Sawyer, Beau and Ashton, three best friends since childhood. Sawyer and Beau are cousins, one is the Prince charming cousin and the other one is the trouble maker. As they grow up, they start noticing that Ashton is becoming a beautiful girl and of course both of them fall for her. Ashton and Sawyer end up together but there is always something missing in their relationship, everything is the same, a perfect relationship between the two of them. One day Sawyer leaves town for vacations and Beau and Ashton start hanging out together and whatever Ashton was missing starts getting filled up by Beau's charisma and dangerous persona.  This is a great book and I of course downloaded the second book right away after I finished this one. The other read of this week is The Vincent Brothers. At the end of the first book, there is a big surprise that these two cousins find out and that leads to this new book. This other book is also really good, but I cannot tell you any of it because I will be letting you know what happened in the first book. :) These two books are a great read and I fully recommend them to you.

Also one highlight of the week is that I wrote a comment on Abbi Glines' facebook page and she commented it back with a lovely "<3"

Losing Hope

Yeah Losing Hope!! I finally read this beautiful book, also by Colleen Hoover

Losing Hope is a sequel or Holder's POV of Hopeless, one of my very very favorite books! I said  a sequel because the beginning is a little different, it has more to it. It actually starts when they were kids and when Hope got taken. For those of you who haven't read Hopeless, I really encourage you to do it ASAP. It is an amazing book, it is so real, so sad although it makes you happy at the end. It is an amazing story very different from all the book that I have read. This book is not a disappointment, the beginning makes a lot more sense, you learn to love Holden and understand him a lot more. At the end of the book it has a letter from Les (Holden's twin sister) that explains why she did what she did. I am not telling anymore, because some of you need to read it!  Amazing!

Cont..

This Girl

This book is the third book of the Slammed Series by Colleen Hoover. Actually this book is Will's POV of the first book. Will and Lake are already married, and while in the Honeymoon  Will starts to share his part of the story since they both met. I love this part when they are in the honeymoon, it's so nice to read that they are doing great, I mean they are a great couple that were destined for each other. I actually posted a blog about this series a while back, and these two books are seriously good. Ok, so Will is telling his part of the story while Lake gets all this emotions back and it is really fun to read. I like the part that Will finds out about Julia's cancer. I actually didn't know by reading the first book, that he already knew about her cancer way before Lake. The only thing that I didn't like about the book, is that I can't understand why Will thinks so much hehe. Ok, the thing is that, Will seems to think so much because you read a lot of his thoughts until he finally says something to Lake. I don't think I am saying this right, but I am not the only one that thought about this. My friend Jasmine read this book as well, and we both think that Will seems to think a lot and not really saying much. You would have to read the book to understand what I am saying hehe. I did like the book, maybe not as much as the first two books but I did like it.

Hopeless

Hopeless, by Colleen Hoover

Such a beautiful and touching book! This time I won't tell you the whole story, because this book deserves to be read. I can't just tell you, you MUST read it. This is such an emotional book. At first, Sky and Holder's relationship made me laugh a lot, they are so fun!, but then their lives change completely!!.Believe me!, this is not just any book. You can't see it coming! it has such an amazing plot, that makes you anxious but not knowing what's next. The story is not like any other, it is so real. Colleen Hoover really wrote this story so nicely, that makes you think deeper in what's really happening in other people's life. I could really say that this book is one of my favorites, and I really encourage you to read it. This is not just a love story, this is real life.

Fifty Shades (Cont.)

(Cont.)

Ok, well after reading Fifty Shades of Grey twice, I read two books called Bared to You, and Reflected in You. These two books are really similar to Fifty Shades, kind of naughty books. This is about a rich girl who falls in love with another rich guy, and they both have some personal problems that they need to work on, and so on. Other than that, those books didn't impressed me as much as Fifty Shades. I thought that maybe the author read Fifty Shades and wanted to do basically the same story and  just change some things around. (That's my opinion).

Another trilogy that I read was The Hunger Games. When I started reading the first book, I got lost really quickly. I didn't know if to continue reading the book or just watch the movie. I decided to wait, and watch the movie. It was then, when I understood what I was reading and I got more excited about the books. The second book, went by a little more smooth, and I love the third book as well. (I can't wait for the movies).

Another two books that I also recommend by Colleen, Hoover. Slammed and Point of Retreat. These books are really sad in some way because Lake, a high school girl moves from Texas to Michigan, and after a while Lake and her little brother faced with the death of their mother. She also meets Will, her neighbor who also lives only with his little brother after the lost of his parents.  They soon fall in love, but their relationship gets complicated because they both have to act like parents with their short age.
