where she went

This is a sequel of the book If I Stay review here by Gayle Forman

Spoiler free*

If you read my review, then you know how amazing the first book is, and that I finished it withing hours. And obviously I was actually expecting so much more for this second book. This book is mostly about Adam, about his band, and the chapters go back and forth from past to present. I think it would have been better if it had Mia's POV too. I wanted to hear more about what happened to Mia after the accident. I wanted to know how did she react after waking up, and how did she react about losing her entire family. Unfortunately, it wasn't much of it until the end when Adams meets with Mia again, but still everything happens too fast. To tell you the truth, I didn't like it so much. I am so sorry because I really expected so much more.

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS

by John Green

This is another book that I chose for my readbox, and it is also being made into a movie for next year.  I am amazed by this book!. I have never read a book like this one, it reminds me of my sister's keeper in a way and some other movies. This is funny yet a sad book, the story it's just something that you don't hear very often, and I love this kind of books that are unexpected.

This book is about Hazel a seventeen year old who has terminal cancer for most of her life. Apparently, she has lived more than what she was supposed to.She doesn't go out, she doesn't go to school anymore, basically not a normal teenager life. Her mom wants her to have a "normal" life, and ends up sending her to  a Cancer Support Group where she meets Augustus Waters, and he changes her life around. It is really hard to explain exactly what happens with this book.  It is really fun and sad at the same time, and this book will get your emotions up and down so watch out. I literally cried like a baby almost at the end of the book! Ohh  and let me tell you the ending is really unexpected.  I fully, truly recommend this book and I think it will make a great movie. I really cannot wait to watch it.

if i stay

If I stay by Gayle Forman

Remember my readbox? click here Basically If I stay is one those books that I chose that are coming up as movies next year. Because I chose this book for my readbox it is only fair that I read it right? lol I was actually reading two different books this week one of them is the post before this one or go here Long Way Home  and The fault in our stars (I haven't finish this one) and it is also another one of my readbox selection. I was reading Long Way Home at home on my cellphone, and The Fault in Our Stars at work, but yesterday I forgot this book at home so I started reading if I stay (I hope I didn't confused you) so basically once I started reading if i stay I couldn't stop, thank God it was really slow at work so I finished it in a couple of hours. You see how amazing is to work in a library so when it's not busy get a book and read it. I think this actually talks good about me, because it means that you care for books, and  I utilize the books from my library (that's what I think anyway). Now, back to the book, it is amazing! Mia is a musician, so is her father, bother and her boyfriend Adam. Mia plays the cello, dad and brother the drums, and Adam is the main voice and main guitar from a local band that are finding their way to success. One snowy day Mia and her family go for a drive to see some friends of the family, but they suffer a terrible accident which causes Mia to be dead? or alive? this is something she needs to find out. Mia is out there with no extra powers or anything, but she is able to see everything around her while she lays down in bed at the hospital, with little possibilities of survival. This is book is a really easy read, really interesting, and I wasn't expecting any of what happened at all. I fully recommend the book, if you like it you won't stop reading it, plus it is coming up in a movie and you will already know the story. This is one of the things what I like about reading books, that you get to find out what happens in the movie before people who do not read. Plus, I am really desperate woman and I don't like surprises! so I like to know that I know what's going to happen before everyone else hehe.

Long Way Home

Long Way Home by Ann Vaughn

This is the story about Tessa and Shane when they were in kindergarten, and basically Tessa told the little guy that one day they were getting married. Of course a 6 or 7 year old would be scared and wants to get away from her, but in high school they actually end up together. Wait! there is a lot more! Tessa and Shane go on different directions after high school. Shane goes out of town for college and Tessa goes to the army, they do not see each other for some years, until one time that they both ended up back in town for the holidays but they go away once again. Shane and Tessa now being around 28 years or found each other working at the same place for the FBI. They resumed their relationship once again and they end up getting  engaged, but Tessa gets send out to an undercover mission were she suffers a lot of trauma, gets rape and bitten really hard by different people and she blames Shane for not protecting her and there is a lot more to it. Do not think that I have just told you everything there is a lot more! I liked this book because, the story moves so fast, there is a lot going on with their lives and I like that both characters are so strong! That even though a lot of years passed by they still end up together. Another thing, this book is narrated by a third person, so there is a lot more details to the story.

This Man Confessed

Ohh Freaking Ending!! I don't curse but man I want to right now!!!!! What an ending!!!!

Ohh my God, I really have no words right now! I just finished reading this third and last book of the Man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas. I seriously never, never , ever read a book that tortured me like this one. This plot!  I kind of had a clue of what was going on, but the ending really surprised me. Ava and Jesse's relationship goes above and beyond, full of drama until the very end. I just cannot believe how Ava took all of  that! I don't think I'll be able to handle like she did, it was just too much. Like I said before Jesse is full of secrets, women and drama! and all of this is following and torturing Ava. My respects goes to Ava 100% for being a strong woman. This book was the longest out the three and a little quiet at the beginning. They were doing ok, but you know every good book has to have an amazing plot and this one really nailed it. I cannot tell you enough that you have to read this book, really this is a must! Such a great series, really a favorite of mine. I am still shocked!

Fallen too Far

Awee I just finished reading Fallen Too Far! man!! how I love this book, this is definitely one of my favorites, if is not my most favorite book!!! You know this is not the kind of book that you can only read once, this book can be read over and over. Fifty Shades of Grey is also one of those books that you just don't get tired of reading. Even though you know the whole story, you still get excited every time you read it. That's what makes a good book, to an unforgettable book. I actually read Breathe a couple of weeks ago also from Abbi Glines, this book however was more intense! I kept telling Jasmine that this book had some more to it, like more explicit episodes from Jax's part. I also love that book so much, and now even more. I am almost done reading This Man Confessed book # 3 from the Man Series (another of my favorites).

Beneath This Man

This is book # 2 after "This Man" by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Let me tell you this book is insane!! Better than the 1st book, it is just SO amazing!! I am really reading Fifty Shades times 2!! There is a lot going on with Ava and Jesse, lots of drama, lots of fights and way more sex! Really if you were amazed of how many times Mr. Gray and Ana were together, I think this couple are doing double the work! If you read my post for the first book then you know that Jesse owns a Sex House, and there is a lot going on there. A lot of secrets that Ava finds throughout the whole book! I seriously wanted to punch Jesse so many times, I love him, don't get me wrong, but he is seriously a case! There were moments that I wanted Ava to seriously go far away from Jesse!! This is an amazing book, I highly recommended if you like this same kind of books. I will advise though that you are going to get your nerves high up! There are some really good moments, like Ava asking Jesse for his age throughout the book, specially the part where Ava finds out how old he really is. I love this second book a lot! You will love Jesse even though he is a big arse!

* Remember when I described Ava and I said that she was size 10, well I wasn't thinking that they are from the UK so the US size is 6. I was really thinking she was a bit chunky like me ^-^

Readbox and New Movies Info!!

Hello there! I just wanted to post this project that I did for my job, because it is book related :)

I love pinterest! I think it is an amazing app, where you can find A LOT of different ideas from clothing outfits to makeup etc.. I also like to do crafts!!! As you might know my husband and I, we're both librarians so one day we were looking for fun book displays to do at the library (we work in different towns btw). I found this cool "readbox" display which basically is like a "redbox" (where you can rent DVDs) but this one is for books, that's why is call "read" box get it???? lol. All right so I thought it was going to be fun and easy to do, so I asked my boss the main head librarian if I could do it, and she agreed right away!!! so this what I am talking about....

I chose books that are coming up in movies next year. Some of them like the Lorax and Catching Fire came out already, but I wanted to throw them in there :) I got a mix of children, non fiction,  YA and Fiction as well. The movie Horns by Joe Hill came out and has been shown in Canada only, but it has not  been release in the US yet. The main character is been played by Daniel Radcliffe best known as the lovely Harry Potter.

Here is the info for the other movies/books,  in case if you want to read the book first before the movie.

If I stay by Gayle Forman - play by Chloë Moretz from Kick Ass and Carrie the movies

This Man

Wow!!! This book is intense! I really felt like as if I was reading Fifty Shades, but a different story. The author Jodi Ellen Malpas writes really similar to E. L. James, really!! so you must imagine what kind of book this is!!! Well  Jodi is also British but she uses it a little more of the English slang, (I guess) I didn't understand some of the words, but thanks to the technology of eBooks, I just highlighted the word and got the definition :D
"This Man" is about Ava (an interior designer) and Jesse a super mega rich, hot, over protected, charming, confident, conceited man!!! he has everything!!!! but on the bad side (if you see it like this) he owns a freaking sex house!! which brings a lot of problems to their "relationship". Ava  has her own things too, she is a size 10 but really confident as well, she is a amazing interior designer and has worked with powerful people such as Jesse. She knows that Jesse is trouble and wants to get away, but he is really, really intense and do not want to let Ava go!!

I love the book!! this is the first  of three books and I'm already reading # 2 "Beneath This Man". One thing though this book is really long! 2, 200 something pages on an eBook! I don't remember how many for the "Fifty Shades" but it is worth it!! so worth it!!

Something to Remember

Last Friday I had an amazing time! I met two of my favorite authors, of course you know who they are. Yes, I am talking about Abbi Glines and Colleen Hoover!! Jamie McGuire was there too. I started reading one of her books, but I never finish it ( I might do it soon) because I think most of the people at the signing were there specially for Jamie's books. Jamie was really well spoken, she looks though, but she is also fun and went to a hard time before she came a famous author. Colleen was the quiet one, really really nice and she truly cares about her books. Abbi is all I imagine to be, she is so uplifting, she is fun and she really reflects that on her books! She is amazing. We were there for an hour or so asking questions, then we waited in line for another hour and a half to get our books sing, but all this was worth it. It is an amazing opportunity to meet them, this is once in a life time. Thanks to Jasmine who went with me and we together had a really good time!

I'm here

I haven't  written anything in a while!!! I guess I still cannot get over the last books I've read. I just haven't find any books that really interest me. That's horrible isn't???? I have been so busy this past weeks, I did however read some books or at least part of some books. I started reading Alligiant by Veronica Roth, I actually had that book pre order and I was so excited about it, but then I read something that I was not suppose to read in Jasmine's blog and I just lost all interest!! I know is my fault but i couldn't wait!! :(

I did read a book called Finding Katie, this book is anonymous but it was edited by Beatrice Sparks same person who edited Go ask Alice. What can I say about this book? I cannot say that I like it because everything that happened was not good. This is real life, all this things happened to a real person. What I did like about the book is that it actually has a happy ending. Katie was born in a rich family, she has always have everything except for her parents love. Her dad was a well know producer from Hollywood and was always busy and abusive. Katie's mom was a drug addict and didn't care for her daughter at all. One that the father took her and left her in the ugly side of LA and like that Katie became homeless. Later on she was found by a social worker and placed her in a foster home and her life just became harder. The one thing about her is that she started to help the other foster kids and by that it helped her to find that meaning in her life. This is a good a book, there is a lot to learn. It is amazing how we don't realize the need for this kids, there are a lot thousands of kids without a home, specially the older kids.  I would definitely recommend this book, it is a hit to reality.

I also read Breathe by Abbi Glines. This is book is one of my absolute favorites! This was actually the very first book that I read from Abbi, and after that I just got obsessed with her books.

Some news!! I am so excited because tomorrow 11/15/13, Jasmine and I are going to see Colleen Hoover and Abbi Glines!!!

Finding Cinderella

by Colleen Hoover!!

I love this short book!!! Remember Daniel from Hopeless? Daniel is Holder's crazy and funny best friend, well this is his book! Now, you remember when the school administration forgot to schedule him for a 5th period class and he used to hide in the maintenance closet to takes naps?? Then if you do, you must remember a girl who bumped inside the closet and at they end up making out. In this book Daniel tries to find this girl but he has not success and ends up with Val. All this is until Six (Sky's best friend) comes back from Europe and all that changes. Awww!! I loved this book is so funny because Daniel is such a character hehe so funny. The ending is such breathtaking and unfinished! I want more!!

Guess what? Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines and Jamie Mcguire are coming to my State, and I am going to see them with my friend Jasmine Woot Woot!! I actually need to buy some of the books so they can sign it :D I own most of the books online, but I don't have any hard covers :(

Simple Perfection

The newest book by Abbi Glines.

You know that she is my favorite author, but I didn't quiet enjoy this book until almost the end!! I don't really know why, I usually consumed her books right away. This is one actually took me like a week to finish!!! Don't get me wrong I still like this book, and I still love Woods.  I think is Della, I don't really connect with her, there is something about her that I don't like, I don't know... I can't explain it. Another thing that I didn't like about the book is that, this book was as if it was written for new audience. It explains a lot of who the characters are, like Rush and Blaire and I didn't like that. I guess if somebody read the first book twisted perfection, or any of the Fallen too Far Series should already know who each of them are. The end though! the end was surprising, not good surprising, one of the characters dies!!! I couldn't stop crying!! I don't know why Abbi tortured us like that!! I am not telling you who dies, the only thing I will tell you is that, is not one of the main characters pfff!! (imagine how I would feel) :( This book is good, but it's not going to be on my favorites. I am sorry....

Our song

Our Song by Jordanna Fraiberg

Awww this is a really nice book! I read it so fast! It really got me hooked since the very beginning. This story is about Olive Bell who lives in a perfect neighborhood, she has a perfect family and a perfect boyfriend, you know the deal...the popular guy from school who has his goals already set up for his future and all that. The book starts when Olive has had an accident and she dies....yeap she died for 3 long minutes!!! but when she wakes up, her life changes completely. Apparently something happened before the accident, but she cannot remember, but don't worry everything will be disclose almost at the end of the book. The best part of this book is when she meets Nick in one of her "After Dead Sessions" he is so different to all the rest, she feels complete, but there is something, there is something something that separates these two. Overall, this book is really good, I enjoyed reading it. It has a lot of mystery and drama I like it a lot!!!

This week reads

As many of you know that Abbi Glines is one, if is not my very favorite author of all times!! Some of you know that I work at a Library and I have never been able to find any of Abbi's books in hard cover. I have always read all of  her books in kindle or iBooks. One day I requested hers and Colleen Hoover's books to the manager from another branch, she told me that those books were YA-ish  and she didn't order those books, so I left it like that. The other day I was bored at work and I wanted something to read, and I search for these authors and to my surprise I found that there was a copy of the Vincent Boys from Abbi and Slammed by Colleen Hoover in the branch were I have had requested them. I was so excited that I right away put to the books on hold so they could be shipped to me to the branch were I work at. So one of the books that I read this week is The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines and as usual I consumed that book in a couple of hours. I love how Abbi Glines writes, I love every one of her books. This is a different book from her series, it is a different story, but it is good as always. The Vincent boys is about Sawyer, Beau and Ashton, three best friends since childhood. Sawyer and Beau are cousins, one is the Prince charming cousin and the other one is the trouble maker. As they grow up, they start noticing that Ashton is becoming a beautiful girl and of course both of them fall for her. Ashton and Sawyer end up together but there is always something missing in their relationship, everything is the same, a perfect relationship between the two of them. One day Sawyer leaves town for vacations and Beau and Ashton start hanging out together and whatever Ashton was missing starts getting filled up by Beau's charisma and dangerous persona.  This is a great book and I of course downloaded the second book right away after I finished this one. The other read of this week is The Vincent Brothers. At the end of the first book, there is a big surprise that these two cousins find out and that leads to this new book. This other book is also really good, but I cannot tell you any of it because I will be letting you know what happened in the first book. :) These two books are a great read and I fully recommend them to you.

Also one highlight of the week is that I wrote a comment on Abbi Glines' facebook page and she commented it back with a lovely "<3"

Against the Ropes

by Sarah Castille

This book, oh my.... I loved it!!!! This is a new book that we got at the library, and I immediately fell in Love with the cover.  This is a mix of some of my favorite books, like Fifty Shades, Bared to You and Noah!! Yeap you hear it right!! a mix of a beautiful, boxer, rich, sexy, playful, mysterious and impatient guy and his name is Max aka Torment. The big surprise here is Makayla the girl who falls for this guy. Makayla is also so close to reality, she describes herself as curvy, lazy, inexperience and funny. OMG I couldn't stop laughing with this book! I love her character I love the way she is, she is so much like you and me. She is so funny and she made me laugh so much with the way she is.  This book definitely became at the top of my favorite books! Jasmine I know you will love it :)

Stalk Me

Another free book by Jilian Dodd

Keatyn Douglas is the daughter of a famous Hollywood  actress, and she is 16 year old. This book was a little longer of what I expected, but it was really good. I like this book for the fact that it is so close to reality. Is everything that you expected to hear about the daughter of a well known actress, somebody who is spoil and pretty and very independent. Well Keatyn is all that, she does what ever she wants to do, she is one of the most popular girls at school. She thinks she is in love with different guys and ends up going out with some of them. This is reality people!! This is really what rich and non rich young girls do! I want to give Keatyn some credit though, she wants to change, she really thought she was in love and I know she is a dreamer. She just cannot change who her mom is and because of that she needs to face a lot of problems, a lot of drama and a lot of stalking! Yes, there is a big time Stalker that forces her family to make major changes in their lives. I do like the book, there is a second book of this series, I might wait a little longer to read it.

Another Youtube Video?

Yes, Well....What can  I say

I bought an iMac with the only purpose to edit and upload videos to YouTube, using iMovie. I have always love editing videos. I still have some of my first videos in MySpace, can you believe it?? MySpace?? I still have my account active because I have some good memories there, that I'll like to keep. Some of those videos were of me and my husband, but now I have lots of videos of my little one. Most moms will understand me, you just cannot stop taking pictures of your kids!! I also have tried uploading makeup tutorials, that is another thing that I have always like to do, makeup. I know there is lots of professional makeup artist there, but who knows maybe some people might like mine. :) So, here are some of my recent videos, let me know what you think.

Th1rteen R3asons Why

A novel by Jay Asher

This book is in the New York Best Sellers for this month.

All this suspense started the day Clay, a high school student received a shoe box full of audio tapes with numbers on them. When he started listening to the first tape, he knew these tapes belonged to Hanna Baker. Hanna was a mysterious girl from high school, who was always involved in the gossip from school. After being bullied in different ways, she killed herself. Hanna left these tapes to pass along the 13 people who made her take this decision.  This book is so amazing, I couldn't stop reading it. I wanted to know more, and as you read you will find out how these people tormented Hanna until the very last day when she did it. This is a book that you have to read!! It's hard to imagine that our actions can affect somebody's life, even if we mean it or not.

I know this is not the real trailer or if they're thinking on making a movie, but this fan trailer came out so good.

2 Free books

Hello there!

This past week I read two really good FREE books. I have downloaded those books a while back and since I didn't know what to read so I read those, and there were really amazing!

The first book is "The rock star's daughter" by Caitlyn Duffy. This book is about Taylor, a girl whose mom just died and she gets send to live with her father, who is a well known Rock Star.  This is not a typical book and it actually does not have a predicted ending.  Taylor accompanies her dad in this Tour together with her step mother and step sister, but this new life does not suit her at all. The only things that keeps her going is this guy who works selling t-shirts at the tour. Being the daughter of a rock star is not easy for Taylor, and there are a lot of problems and drama that comes with it. This is a short book, but it is really good.

Second book is called "Promise you won't tell? by John Locke. This book is amazing!!!!! This could definitely be a movie! The book starts with Riley Freeman, a girl who suspects got molested in one of her friends sleepover.  Riley seeks help from Dani Ripper a young, beautiful and bright private investigator (as she describes herself), and that's it. I can't tell no more, this book has a twist in the story, and it is surprising good! Full of drama and and shocking ending!! This is a must read book.

Makeup

Yeah, I think it was about time to finally share some of the stuff that I have learn about makeup. After all the YouTube videos and magazines and all the good stuff, this is what I've learn. I think I have a little bit of everything, I don't have a lot but I have a mix from professional and expensive makeup to drugstore makeup. The difference about these two is the price only, we could find some good stuff at the drugstore. Ok, I will show you some of the makeup foundations that I have and I will review it for you. These for example:
L'Oreal true match, Cover Girl clean whipped crème and M.A.C. pro longwear foundation.

1. L'Oreal true match is really good! I have the W5 I think it might be a little too light, next time I'll buy the W5 1/2 or the W6 (Ulta.com has those 1/2). I bought mine at CVS for $10.99, and Walgreens has it for the same price however, Target has it for $8.99. It last all day and looks natural, this is what I wear everyday.

2. Cover Girl whipped cream cost me $8.79 at CVS. I like it, but my face gets really oily during the day, I have to apply powder during thorough the day.

3. M.A.C. the only wrong thing about this is the price hehe it cost $31 at the MAC store, but I actually found another store that sells them. The Clinton outlets has a small makeup store, kind of like Sephora or Ulta that has the good stuff but way cheaper. I saw this one for $17! almost half of price. I love this foundation! it last all day and it looks really natural, it doesn't get my face oily. I kind of use this on special occasions now, since I'm  almost done with it or on Sundays when I want to look flawless :)

I like CVS because it usually gives you money back, I buy something and it gives me like some cvs bucks and I could re-spend it on something else. One time I got $20 cvs bucks! Actually my new makeup store is Target! they have really good deals. Almost $2 difference on that L'Oreal true match and my new favorite lip balms Maybelline color Whisper for $5.99 and CVS has those for $7.99 so Target has better prices.  Actually you'll be surprise that Bed Bath and Beyond has the same price as Target! who would of thought!! really, they have everything! even I found this real Techniques brush for $7.99 (Ulta has it for 8.99)

Isabel Allende

Do you know who Isabel Allende is? Well, she is really well know  Spanish author. Why the heck didn't I know about her??? She is amazing!! I know I have been using that word a lot lately, but I mean it. I actually need to start reading more Spanish books and Spanish authors. I read this book call Amor, and this book it's full of stories from all her books divided in 4 different topics. The first one is call Amor, the second one is Primer Amor, third one is Pasion and Celos, Amores Contrariados y por ultimo la Madurez. The book made me laugh since the very first page, it is really entertaining! If you read Spanish this is a good book to read, or you could read one by one. She also has her books translated in English.

Losing Hope

Yeah Losing Hope!! I finally read this beautiful book, also by Colleen Hoover

Losing Hope is a sequel or Holder's POV of Hopeless, one of my very very favorite books! I said  a sequel because the beginning is a little different, it has more to it. It actually starts when they were kids and when Hope got taken. For those of you who haven't read Hopeless, I really encourage you to do it ASAP. It is an amazing book, it is so real, so sad although it makes you happy at the end. It is an amazing story very different from all the book that I have read. This book is not a disappointment, the beginning makes a lot more sense, you learn to love Holden and understand him a lot more. At the end of the book it has a letter from Les (Holden's twin sister) that explains why she did what she did. I am not telling anymore, because some of you need to read it!  Amazing!

Cont..

This Girl

This book is the third book of the Slammed Series by Colleen Hoover. Actually this book is Will's POV of the first book. Will and Lake are already married, and while in the Honeymoon  Will starts to share his part of the story since they both met. I love this part when they are in the honeymoon, it's so nice to read that they are doing great, I mean they are a great couple that were destined for each other. I actually posted a blog about this series a while back, and these two books are seriously good. Ok, so Will is telling his part of the story while Lake gets all this emotions back and it is really fun to read. I like the part that Will finds out about Julia's cancer. I actually didn't know by reading the first book, that he already knew about her cancer way before Lake. The only thing that I didn't like about the book, is that I can't understand why Will thinks so much hehe. Ok, the thing is that, Will seems to think so much because you read a lot of his thoughts until he finally says something to Lake. I don't think I am saying this right, but I am not the only one that thought about this. My friend Jasmine read this book as well, and we both think that Will seems to think a lot and not really saying much. You would have to read the book to understand what I am saying hehe. I did like the book, maybe not as much as the first two books but I did like it.

New House

Nop, it's not mine :( but my parents bought a house. I have been really busy helping remodeling and my new job, that I haven't been able to write on my blog. I have been reading though and this is a summary of the books that I have read.

I don't really remember the order of the books, but here we go!

Young House Love by Sherry and John-This is not a novel, this book is an amazing book if you are redecorating your home! Really amazing I love it! Really easy and cheap ways to remodel your house. This couple have been remodeling their homes, and they actually share the pictures of the updates of the rooms on their blog. So, I guess they decided to come up with a book full of ideas of what to do. I love remodeling, I am not a pro but I am not afraid of trying things. That's why I love the book because they show step by step what to do and where to buy the material. They also collaborated with other bloggers that shared their ideas. Really cool book! Here is their blog if you want to check it out: http://www.younghouselove.com/
I actually found the book at my library :) Those are the benefits of working in a library hehe

Now, for the makeup fans like me! I actually found these two books at my library as well for makeup. These books show you how to use makeup, what works best for your skin, what colors etc.... Yeah I am a weirdo hehe, but I love wearing makeup and I like to know how to use it and what to buy (don't tell my husband). I actually have done makeup to my sister and her friends for Prom. On July one of my best friends got married and I did her hair and makeup as well. Like I say I am not a pro, but reading books and watching makeup tutorials on YouTube help a lot! These are the titles of these two books that I recommend for beginners like me: Sephora: The Ultimate Guide to Makeup, Skin, and Hair from the Beauty Authority and Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual: For Everyone from Beginner to Pro (sold at Walmart or loan it from your library)

Dark House

Last week I read Dark House (First Book of Experiments in Terror) by Karina Halle

Is a freaking scary book! haha I liked the book but I had a hard time reading it at night. I wanted to stop reading but I just couldn't do it!! Actually, Perry the main character was brave like me haha She was scared and her mind told her not to do it, not to look for the evil but she did anyway. Ohh well, overall the book was entertaining. I really don't understand why Jasmine has Dex as one of her book boyfriends hehe I thought he was an ass! I don't know if I will continue with these books. I started reading Red Fox but I just switched to read This Girl by Colleen Hoover and so far so good.

A few more books

Over these past weeks, I have read some books and my eyesight is acting a little weird.  I am actually going to see an eye doctor this Saturday, I think I might need glasses real soon. For some reason I like to read ebooks instead or hard cover books and I think is kind of damaging my eyes. Well, I guess it was about time too, I am most of the time in front of my computer or my cellphone.

The first book that I read was Insurgent, book # 2 after Divergent. I also found out that the movie is coming out next year in 2014! Woot woot! As I said in my other blog, this book sounded a lot like the Hunger Games and people are actually comparing it to those books as well. I knew it! ok well. I am looking forward for it! This book # 2 is really good as well, a lot of things happened and Tris the main character grows up a lot and becomes a powerful fighter. The book is good and I have the feeling that the movies would be better :)

Second book is for all those Pretty Little Liars fans! Yes! you know that I am a FAN! even my husband watches it, he complains of me watching it, but at the end he watches it too hehe. I wanted the read the whole series of books but I couldn't. The show is a little different from the books, so I skipped all of them and went straight for the very last one. Ali's Pretty Little Lies, is Ali's (the dead girl) point of view and it goes from the very first beginning. It has really good info! and if the show follows this book, that means that....I know who killed Ali! But I am not telling you! it is really good!!!

The third book OMG Entwined with You!! Eva and Gideon are so HOT!! Not a lot of things happen in this book actually. Only until the end the book spice up a little more. For some reason, I still think that these books are not as good as Fifty Shades, but they are really close.

Forever too Far

Oh My God!!!!
Why is it that I can read these books so easily??!! I have to say again that Abbi Glines is the best!!
I read some other books before, and some they just took me a little more time to finish. The Abbi Glines books are just so easy, so entertaining so perfect! This book is not an exception, is so good, even though Blaire is so pregnant they still have some hot sex!! Rush is just so into his pregnant fiance that loves everything about her, even if she has her big belly. I know a lot of pregnant ladies look so sexy and pretty, it really gives them that glow! Well the pregnancy time is hard for us, it changes everything about your body. So it would be nice to have a supportive husband who thinks you are sexy anyway. Believe me, it helps a lot! Oh my God, I don't know why I am talking about pregnancy???? I love this book! every part of it! I just love these series and how every book connects with the other one. I know there is another book coming up about Grant and Harlow, I am so ready for it!!

Mexico

For those who didn't know... I just came back from Mexico!!

I feel kind of down right now..I missed my city, my country already..It happens every time i come back from there. It just that Mexico has so much energy, I didn't stop all day.. from grocery shopping, to just go walk and find a lot of food on the way. Yes! Food everywhere, you don't really have to cook, you could find food in every corner. Parks full of people, some playing soccer, some other playing baseball, doing Zumba and exercise. Mexico is so full of energy, you could really see it everywhere. People working under the sun all day, believe me under temperatures like 100* degrees. My daughter also was really happy, free! She played outside all day, ride in the back of the truck (don't tell my husband) and getting wet all day playing with the Kelly the dog. I really had a blast!

Here are some pictures :D

Divergent

Divergent by Veronica Roth

Yes! I finally read another book!! OMG I was so ashamed of not reading anything lately.  I did started some books but none of them got my attention. I don't know what was wrong with me! I was so into the makeup stuff and tutorials that instead of reading I got to watch makeup tutorials, what a shame :/
Ok well about two days ago while I was at work, I found this book whose cover is really similar to the Hunger Games. I started reading it and it really was a lot similar like the hunger games, but I liked it since the beginning too, so I read a little bit in a hard copy then I went home and downloaded it. For some reason it seems easier for me to read it in my phone or iPad.
Ok, well the story is about Beatrice who lives in the Abnegation faction. There are 5 Factions and they are all different from each other like Beatrice's faction believe in selflessness, they are all helping people and they don't believe in outside beauty. They all wear the same colors to identify themselves and cover their heads and the kids are not suppose to talk to their parents or ask any questions. Another Faction is  the Dauntless who are the totally opposite from the Abnegation, they are brave and fun and they are the ones that are suppose to take care of the city like the guardians. Candor Faction is all about telling the truth, they are not suppose to lie, they have to be honest at all the times. The Erudite Faction, are the intelligent ones, they study and are the doctors of the city, the inventors etc... The Amity are the peace keepers, they are the gardeners, the ones that bring the food and more. Ok,well at the age of 16 all the kids are suppose to choose one of these Factions in a ceremony. They all, one by one take a Aptitude test and depending of their results, they get to choose a Faction. Well Beatrice is different, after her test inclusive results gets to choose not one but three of the factions. She is a Divergent, which is really dangerous and the story explains why. There is also a little bit of a love story <3 I really like the book, I am reading part two already its called Insurgent and I am almost half way through it. I really recommend these books, I kind of picture a movie about these books. It would be really cool!

For my daugther

Hello guys!!

I just wanted to share this video that I made for Saydee. I want her to look at this video that her mommy made her just because I love her so much. I remember her since the very first day she was born, she was purple, swollen and I thought she had a little penis haha.  I remember asking my husband to double check if she was a girl. She is been growing up so quick! I want her to look at her pictures because for some reason I don't have a lot of pictures of myself when I was a kid. My mom told me that she looks just like me except for my hair which was black and straight and of course the eyes!

Thoughts

I feel so bad because I haven't read any book lately. Right now I am freaking obsessed with make-up tutorials in YouTube. I am buying makeup and I am not supposed to :(

What I need is to go back to reading and forget about buying makeup for a while. Also, because I use my money on makeup, I haven't bought This Girl by Colleen Hoover which came out April 30th. There is also another book that I am so looking forward to it which is Entwined to You. The third book of the Crossfire Novels by Sylvia Day and it comes out on June 4th, but I'll be in Mexico when it comes out.

I have some great news btw, when I come back from vacations I will be starting a new job!!! I am excited and nervous and happy and everything at the same time : D

A lot of exciting things these coming months, my best friends are also getting married on July 4th! Definitively the Wedding of the year and I am one of the bridesmaids :)

One sad thing though.... One of my best friends Joanne is leaving me to go to Miami this Saturday :( I am so happy for her though, because this would be a nice experience but I would miss her so much. In Miami she would have a different energy, there is so much to do over there and it would be good for her and I can go visit her any time hehe

Here are some pictures...

First this Joanne and my daughter

This is Giuliana and me when I was pregnant

This is my best group of friends(including Joanne and Giuliana again)

Washington DC

You know what???? I still can't get over the weekend trip to DC.

I am seriously thinking on moving over there, but I heard it is an expensive city and right now I just can't. It was my first trip to DC and it was awesome. My family and I stayed in the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel, just 2-3 minutes walking to the Capitol and the National Mall area. For those people who never been in Washington the National Mall is basically a huge park with lots of museums surrounded and if you continue, then you would get to the Washington Monument, the Tomas Jefferson monument and Abraham Lincoln monument. I would advise you to go for more than a weekend to see most of the museums and parks. We also went to the Smithsonian Zoo and it was a pretty long walk too, a lot of people as well, but the lines to see the exhibitions were going by quicker than I expected. Whenever you go please bring really comfortable shoes and clothing, cash to buy food from the vending trucks and an umbrella. I tell you something we were at a corner store right across the hotel buying food, and when we were almost leaving, it started to rain so much but really like a storm rain and just to cross the street to the hotel we were super wet, the street look like rivers (not kidding) but it was awesome. The hotel was really nice, really chick and modern, and really expensive. I paid around $500 for two nights, at first me and my husband were going by ourselves so that was a fair price because I kind of look at it like a honeymoon. Then my parents and daughter decided to join us and that's when I didn't want to pay that much money. Well, it was worth it we were really close to everything, and the museums and parks were free so we basically just pay for the food and hotel. We actually went to the Restaurant in the Hotel Art & Soul, and I didn't like it. It was too expensive for my taste and the food wasn't that great (this is from me and my husband). We ordered Salmon and it was just the Salmon with some mushrooms idk I didn't like it, so we paid around $100 just for the two of us. The service was great, not a lot of choices in the menu but that's it. Washington was a great experience I would definitively would go back and I truly recommend it for a getaway vacations.

Twisted Perfection

OMG!!! One of my favorite books!!!

Twisted Perfection is the third book after Fallen too far and Never too Far by Abbi Glines. Those two books were already on my top favorite list. She is deff one the best!!

This book is so hot! I always liked Woods, even from the first book when he was in love with Blaire but she ended up choosing the bad guy. So it is good that Abbi wanted to write about the good guy who ends up lonely. She actually twisted everything he is so naughty in this book and that's what I liked about it, that he is so nice but so different from the first two books. In this book Woods has a one night stand with Della, who is passing through Rosemary town looking for adventure, and at the same time leaving the terrors from her past life. They actually had an amazing time together, idk how many times they did it and this book is really explicit about. Well, she leaves town leaving a mark on Woods life. Woods is actually getting engage when Della comes back and just can't continue, this is a must to read!! I really loved the book

OMG and that ending!! I can't wait for Fall (Not that I want the summer to be over) but I want to read it so bad!!

Just a Little

Hello there!

I went to Washington DC over this weekend with my family and it was really beautiful. A lot of places to visit  in just a weekend, it wasn't enough. There were 6 hours of driving and a took advantage of that time to read 4 mini series by  Tracie Puckett

The first book is called Just a Little Crush and I was hooked right away, yes this book is not naughty or anything. This book is just about Julie Little who is in high school, and she needs to do her community service in the police department for a school project. OK, well she meets Luke who is really mad because he needs to work with a high school student and obviously he thinks it's just a waste of time. What I like about this book is that Julie and Luke work together but they're both really stubborn, and they're always fighting with each other. Like the tittle of this book Julie has a little crush on him and he knows it, that why he gives her a hard time hehe.

The other books are really good too, when finish one it makes you want to read the other one right away. The books are just $.99 ea and they are 4 of them.
The second book is called Just a little Embrace, the third book is Just a little Sincerity, and the last one is Just a little Promise.

Cubrete el Acne!

Hola!

(te advierto andaba bien mormada y mis bocinas no sirven bien jeje)

ok lo que use fue:

All-in-one BB cream-The Body Shop
Concealer NW25-M.A.C.
Polvo NC35-M.A.C.
Rubor.Blush-Paeach/Durazno de Cover Girl

Acuerdense que es muy importante escojer el color que mas se asimile a tu tono de piel. :)

11 Minutes

I just finished reading 11 minutes by Paulo Coelho for second time but this time in Spanish

This book is about Maria, a prostitute. Maria is from a small town in Brazil whose dreams are really high, and travels to the big city looking for something more. It wasn't love what she was looking for, it was fame, money, and adventure. Maria travels to Switzerland as a prostitute, she learns how to speak French and talks about her fascination for sex, not love, just sex. She explains that sex is just about about 11 minutes of her life trying to get to find a way of release. She thinks of that until one day she finds a famous painter who looks at her for her inner light. They talked and discover that sex is more than that and they fall for each other. What I like about this book is that is not just a love story, this is about real life. Her life is sad and lonely she loves that famous painter but she knows that he is not for her, that he is just a dream. At the end of the year she decides to go back to Brasil. This is a good book to read, we could look at prostitution with a different perspective (not that prostitution is good) but it helps you look at it in a different way. It has a good ending.

Reflected in You

Earlier this year a posted a mini review for Bared to you  and Reflected in You by Sylvia Day

Basically, what I said was that I didn't like the books because they were almost exactly like Fifty Shades. I still think the first book is really similar to Fifty, but I never got to finish reading the second book Reflected in You. Well after reading Fifty Shades for a the third time I wanted to read something similar, so I started reading the second book from the beginning and guess what? I like it!. I could say that the first 30% is still kind of the same thing, Gideon and Eva are seeing each other, falling for one another right away and they continued with their same nightmares and personal problems. The other half of the book gets really excited!

Everything started when Eva was invited to a concert, the band's lead singer was Eva's ex lover, which brings up a lot of drama because she ends up kissing him!!!

Then Eva's friend Cary who gets beaten up by who knows who (we actually find out at the end)

Then the plot! when Nathan( the guy who sexually abused Eva) gets kill and Gideon is acting kind of weird and breaks up with Eva and it has an excellent finish that keeps you wondering what exactly happened and who kill Nathan.

I know this is too vague but this is definitely a good book, mostly the second one. These two books are perfect to read after reading Fifty Shades of Grey, because they are so similar.

The third book Entwined with you is coming out this June, 2013, I really can't wait to read it!!

Easter Play

I have been really busy these past weeks with a play that I directed with the youth of my church.

I am so happy how it came out, we practiced for about two months. I am so thankful with these young kids(not so young) because they have been so patient. It is not easy to find  free time now this days, they are all involve in school and work, but I am glad they found the time to do this play. I played Mary Magdalene about 10 years ago in Mexico, this play changed me in so many ways. I changed as a christian person, I understood that this is what I want to do. I want to be a servant of God, I want to work with the youth. This is what makes me happy, it's like an offering from me to God. I know that nobody is perfect in this life, we all make mistakes, but we do have the opportunity to be better. I chose to be better, I have a reason to be better and I believe that I that I have a purpose in this life. Ok, well the play, here it go...

And this is my group of people. Thank you guys!!!
